We built two new reservoirs in the Papillion Creek Watershed to enhance flood protection. Reservoir WP-6 is 34 acres and WP-7 is 13 acres of water. Both are stocked for fishing and allow kayaking, and trails were added for walking and bicycling. We moved 280,000 cubic yards of dirt to create the earthen dams with much of this coming from the new lake area. We also constructed several new flood control structures requiring 1,300+ cubic yards of structural concrete, and a new bridge over the dam spillway. We paved more than 45,000 square yards of pavement.
