The project is located between the City of Springfield’s Wastewater Treatment Facility (SWWTF) at 17305 S Hwy 50 and extends east to the City of Omaha’s Papillion Creek Waste Resource Recovery Facility (PCWRRF) located at 15705 Harlan Lewis Road in Bellevue, Nebraska. The project includes three (3) lift stations, approximately 16 miles of dual force main interceptor and approximately 1.5 miles of gravity main interceptor. The lift stations include cast-in-place concrete wet wells, submersible pumps, valve vaults, meter vaults, electrical control buildings, standby generators, sanitary piping, odor control systems and site improvements. The fused HDPE force mains range in size from 14 – 36 inches in diameter and vary in depth from 5-17 feet. Construction of the force mains also includes numerous horizontal direction drilling (HDD) trenchless crossings, multiple bored steel cased crossings of roadways and railroads, precast concrete air release structures and pigging station assemblies. The gravity interceptor sewer ranges in size from 12-24 inches and includes precast concrete manholes, steel cased and trenchless crossings.

This project is being delivered under a construction-manager/general contractor method. Owner, engineer, contractor and key subcontractor partnering has been critical to develop value engineering and timely construction.
