This urban project in South Lincoln included construction of a new paved road, two round-abouts, rock surfacing, deep sanitary and storm sewer, and large extensive triple and single box culverts. The entire project was constructed under full road closures on Rokeby Road and 70th Street.
The most challenging parts of the project were the 30' deep mainline sanitary sewer that ran the length of the project and the extensive box culverts in a low lying floodplain which flooded frequently. Substantial rainfall in early spring and summer and the resulting state-wide record flooding caused delays in paving operations and box culvert construction, but the project was still completed under the calendar days allowed.
Overall the project was successful, even with the weather challenges, due to the experience and dedication of our crew and the planning and problem solving of our project managers.
