Ralston Viaduct

The Ralston Viaduct replaced a 1,000-foot stretch of bridge and pavement on a 4-lane divided highway where the limits of Ralston and Omaha meet on 84th Street. The project was scheduled for 3 phases in the 2017 through 2019 construction seasons. The first half was completed ahead of schedule in 2017, for which Hawkins earned full incentive from the owner, the Nebraska Department of Transportation. The final phase of the project was completed in the 2018 season, eliminating the need for 2019 construction.

“Hawkins Construction Company has brought ideas to the District for both cost savings as well as scheduling to keep projects both on time and on budget. To help do this they make time early in the project for both collaborative value engineering as well as learning the intricacies of our projects to avoid potential schedule problems. This understanding of the project helps them with the management of subcontractors and makes for a more organized construction process.”
