Eppley Airfield – Runway and Taxiway Projects

Since 2001, Hawkins Construction has completed numerous runway and taxiway pavement projects at Eppley Airfield. Because of adjacent aircraft operations, these projects are technically complicated, with stringent specifications and potential hazards from nearby air operations. Using specialized personnel and equipment, Hawkins has replaced more than 1,100 square yards of full-depth pavement with various different base course types, large-diameter sewer pipes with associated drainage structures, pump houses, FAA buildings, communication cabling, and runway and taxiway lighting.  Hawkins has built more than 90% of Eppley Airfield pavement.

"Hawkins Construction Company has been a vital partner in building some of Nebraska's most iconic transportation projects — like the West Dodge elevated expressway and the Interstate 80 six-lane between Omaha and Lincoln. Hawkins’ teams consistently help solve problems on-site, create accurate documents, and minimize unnecessary changes — all at extremely competitive prices.”
