Berkshire Office Building

The Berkshire Office building is a 21,000 square-foot, 3 story, steel framed structure built over concrete foundation walls on spread footings.   The lowest level is a 16 stall enclosed parking garage with a hollow core ceiling.  Above that, structural steel and truss framing is clad with numerous materials including brick, cast stone, EIFS and curtain wall.  A distinguishing architectural feature is the front entry Glue Laminated hip roof with tongue and groove wood in the interior.  The project owners affectionately called this feature their building’s “hat.”

The top two levels are class A office space, the first being fully occupied by the project owner and the second level for lease.  Hawkins completed tenant finish of the second level shortly after completing the primary building project.

Hawkins self-performed all structure work and all interior carpentry.  Hawkins built a trusting and professional relationship with the owner and had a lot of fun in the process!

"Hawkins Construction Company has been a vital partner in building some of Nebraska's most iconic transportation projects — like the West Dodge elevated expressway and the Interstate 80 six-lane between Omaha and Lincoln. Hawkins’ teams consistently help solve problems on-site, create accurate documents, and minimize unnecessary changes — all at extremely competitive prices.”
