International Quilt Study Center & Museum
Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Description: Hawkins Construction was the construction manager and general contractor on the new, 3-story, 38,000 square-foot quilt study center. The new facility is located at the corner of 33rd and Holdrege streets in Lincoln (University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus). The sustainable designed building houses a collection of nearly 950 quilts donated to the University of Nebraska. The quilt center represents the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of quilts. The building was designed by internationally renowned architect, Robert A.M. Stern and was constructed following the USGBC guidelines and received a LEED Silver Certification.
