Lake Rehabilitation
Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
Description:
As part of the rehabilitation effort, 350,000 cubic yards
of deposited sediment and pollutants were dredged from the
lake bottom, dried through the use of fly ash, and used
to reconstruct the new lake. 200,000 cubic yards of excavation
and embankment and 12,350 tons of rip-rap placement was
also included in the project. Ten acres of water quality
wetlands were also designed and constructed to protect the
lake from future pollutants and protect the shoreline from
erosion.
